When I tell y’all I’m blessed to be able to work with so many amazing people, life is different when you get to work with people you love for a cause that truly saves lives❤️. My heart is still full from ‘s Leadership Conference to ‘s Saving Ourselves Symposium and even the first ever coalition meeting in Houston. I don’t know how my life turned out this way but I feel blessed nevertheless. I’m doing this with so many amazing people because I authentically believe that we can end HIV and not just within our lifetime but RIGHT NOW if we are really committed and work together AND INVEST/TRUST IN BLACK LEADERSHIP

Still overjoyed and thankful to have received the 2019 ChangeMaker and Progressive Powerhouse award from last night! It was an honor to be recognized by this group that has had such a profound impact on my life. Organizations like NLC are so critical because they cultivate our progressive leaders, amplify non-traditional voices and creates much needed opportunity. Fun/Random Holiday Fact: March 3rd-9th is actually “Celebrate Your Name Week”! While it may sound like a trivial celebration to some, it’s important to realize that there are many in our community that still face legal and social barriers to being recognized by their proper names and genders. Luckily we are fighting for their right to finally celebrate their names! TX State Sen. Jose Rodriguez has filed bill SB 154 which would allow a person to change the name and s*x designation on their birth certificate. This is hugely important in our fight for universal equality and equity. Please contact your State Senate and House reps so that we can turn this bill into law!

Kicked off Women’s History Month with a bang! It was truly an honor to see Michelle Obama on her tour. What made it even better was experiencing it with some amazing women who are already impacting our communities and making history! @ Houston Toyota Center
