Inclusion is about more than where students learn. It's about creating environments where every student is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.

When schools embrace belonging, collaboration, and high expectations for all learners, everyone benefits.

Together, we can continue building schools where every student feels they belong.

As schools continue to embrace inclusive practices, the role of special education professionals continues to evolve.

Rather than being defined by a student's label or service location, today's special educators are increasingly focused on meeting individual needs through collaboration, in-class support, and targeted intervention.

This shift challenges us to think differently about how support is delivered and how specialized services can be used most effectively to help all students thrive.

Left handedness is natural, but many classroom tools and routines are still designed for right handed use, which can create unnecessary barriers for learners.

Small adjustments like the correct tools, seating, and instruction can make a big difference in confidence and independence.

True inclusion shows up in the details, and when we design for every learner, all students can succeed.

Inclusion is often measured by placement. Are students in general education? How much time are they there? These questions matter, but they do not tell the full story.

A student can be in a general education classroom and still not feel included.

So the real question becomes, what does belonging actually look like in our schools?

Belonging is not placement. It is participation, connection, and active engagement in the learning community.

Inclusive schools are not defined by where students sit, but by how students experience their day.

Today is the International Day of Supporting Accessibility for People with Visual Impairments.

Accessibility benefits everyone in the learning environment.

When students can fully engage with instruction, materials, and their school community in ways that work for them, we move closer to true inclusion.

Inclusion benefits everyone.

When people are given space to learn from one another, share strengths, and grow together, the entire community becomes stronger.

There is value in what each person brings to the table, and even more value in what we learn from each other.
