This new space brings together classrooms, labs, and collaborative areas designed for hands-on, inquiry-based learning, something AFIA is known for across San Antonio. From flexible learning environments to shared spaces that encourage problem-solving and teamwork, every part of this project was built with that approach in mind.

Designed to support collaboration, engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the advancement team, the 12,500 SF space brings together private offices, open work areas, conference rooms, and flexible meeting environments across multiple levels. High-end finishes and clean glass-front systems create a professional, welcoming atmosphere that aligns with Rice University’s brand and mission. ✨ 🪟

Meet the newest faces of Butler-Cohen 👏

Our interns are gaining hands-on exposure across the business, from preconstruction and field operations to project management and support teams.

Excited to have them on board and looking forward to what they’ll accomplish this summer.

Our 2026 retreat at Horseshoe Bay was a great reminder of what makes Butler-Cohen special: a team that works hard, shows up for each other, knows how to have fun, and makes time to recognize the people behind the work!! 🛠️

With Houston, Central Texas, and West Texas all together, it gave everyone a chance to step away from the day-to-day and spend real time together. A mix of outdoor activities, time to relax, and a company program with some employee awards 🏆 brought everyone together before the night turned into poker ♠️ and a cigar social.

We wrapped it up with a Build a Bike giveback 🚲 benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Highland Lakes, a solid way to close out a really good trip.

Grateful for this group and everything they bring to Butler-Cohen. 🤝

Our team paused work, secured the area, and coordinated with local game wardens to make sure he got where he needed to go safely. A good reminder that jobsite safety goes beyond our crews, it includes protecting the environment and wildlife around us.

Bayou City Brawl 2026 was unreal 🥊🔥

Major thank you to Association of Commercial Real Estate Professionals and the Bayou City Brawl committee, especially Cindy Young and Troy Cook, for an incredible night supporting the Building Tomorrow Foundation.

After weeks of training, Kelly Staton (our HSE Manager) stepped in the ring, defeated his opponent, and took home the gold‑plated 2026 Bayou City Brawl Championship Belt 🏆
