For those who appreciate a little preparation, and I certainly do, preapproval before the event is highly encouraged. All adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check, and final adoption contract.

I Shih Tzu not! It’s been a crazy few days at Camo Rescue! We’ve taken in 41 dogs since 9-1 and almost half of them are Shih Tzus! 😥🛟

The vet bill for 2 seniors alone just to get exams, meds and treat ear infections was over $700! Dentals and neuters still needed ❤️‍🩹


We heard about a dad and puppy Shih Tzu that needed rescued late last
night and we had volunteers rush to get them as they were being given away.

👅🐾 TONGUE OUT TUESDAY HAS A NEW TINY SUPERSTAR! 🐾👅
Everyone, please meet Kairo! 💙He’s 5 years old, 4 pounds, and approximately 97% tongue. 😂👅 Okay… maybe that’s a slight exaggeration. But when you’re a teeny-tiny guy like Kairo, that tongue deserves its own zip code! 😜

Kairo came to CAMO from a breeder who was no longer able to care for him. He’s been through a lot of changes, and understandably, this little guy can be nervous. But underneath that uncertainty is the sweetest little soul who is ready to discover what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cherished. 🥹💙

And yes, Kairo recently had a dental… and he has no teeth left! 🦷🚫 But don’t worry, he has absolutely NO intention of letting that interfere with his snack game. 😂 He may need wet food or another soft-food diet, and we think he’ll be perfectly happy as long as the menu comes with plenty of love on the side!

Kairo is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. He’s being fostered in the Houston area and is ready to leave his past behind and begin the next chapter with someone who will adore him exactly as he is. 🏡💙

Because Kairo is such a tiny little guy, his forever home needs to follow some VERY important rules:
🚫 NO small children
🚫 NO big dogs
🚫 NO doggie door due to his teeny-tiny size
🚫 NO swimming pools unless they are completely enclosed by PERMANENT fencing

What Kairo does need is someone patient, gentle, loving, and willing to show this little nervous boy that his best days are still ahead. ❤️ He may be missing some teeth, but he certainly isn't missing CHARM! And that tongue? Well… that's clearly working just fine. 👅😂

Camo Rescue could use your help! We have taken in many many dogs over the last few days. Some of these are Medical dogs. 🛟

Coco June (Shih Tzu)!was rescued from Barc today when no one else offered her help we stepped up. She’s a senior with several issues - Medical (Possible Neoplasia, Brucellosis, TVT, Sinus AV block) Will need full workup by full-service veterinarian to stage neoplasia and diagnose vulvar lesion.❤️‍🩹

Lou (Maltese) is coming to us in terrible shape from the Mission shelter in the Rio Grande Valley. ❤️‍🩹

💗🐾 MEET MARINDA; PROFESSIONAL CUDDLER & FULL-TIME SNUGGLE BUG! 🐾💗 If your love language cuddles, cozy naps, and having a sweet girl by your side, Marinda would like to submit her résumé immediately. 🥰

This adorable 8-year-old, 24-pound girl is all about the simple things in life: love, comfort, attention, and being close to her people. 💕 Marinda is vision impaired, but she certainly doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life! She takes things in stride and is a gentle, easygoing girl who seems to believe that every day is a good day for a little more affection. ❤️

She’s also doing a great job with potty training and will continue to improve with a little patience, consistency, and encouragement. 🏡🐾 Marinda is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment, but thankfully, it doesn’t seem to slow this sweet girl down one bit. She’s much more interested in what really matters… WHO HAS THE SNUGGLES?! 😂💗

This sweet, shy Chihuahua mix was running the streets and was luckily captured by Duck Team 6. CAMO Rescue agreed to take her in to keep her safe. She was seen by the vet the following day because we noticed her nose was injured. Juniper is now spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped, but unfortunately, she's heartworm positive, which we are treating.
This little girl is one lucky dog. She is super shy but darling; we are letting her decompress, but we're excited because she's going to make a phenomenal pet with her sweet personality.

Let me introduce myself… I’m Liam, a ridiculously handsome 50-pound Schnauzer mix with one blue yea and one brown eye and a smile that could melt even the iciest heart! 😍🐶 Now, I should probably mention that I’m a three-legged wonder. But don’t worry, I’ve got this whole tripod thing DOWN! 🦵🐾🐾

When I first came into rescue, I was in horrific condition with injuries believed to be from a dog attack. I was rushed to the ER, where the doctors had to amputate one of my legs. 💔

But here’s the thing about me…
I’m not interested in feeling sorry for myself. ❤️

I’ve been through more than any dog should ever have to endure, yet somehow, I came out the other side as the sweetest, gentlest, happiest boy. I don’t let my past define me, and I definitely don’t let three legs keep me from enjoying life!

I LOVE people. I get along wonderfully with others. And if you have a comfy bed, a little attention, some belly rubs, and a whole lot of love to give… well, I think we might be destined for greatness. 🥰 I’ve already fought incredibly hard to get here. Now I’m ready for the easy part, the part where I get to be someone’s beloved forever dog. 🏡❤️
