was on-site at a regional museum yesterday to conduct mock-ups of several options for a lobby lighting refurb. Multiple options that all keep budget and maintenance at the forefront for the double height space while making the space visitor and event-friendly! Which would you pick?

Everyone’s favorite day— took place on Friday with the studio team from spending the afternoon to help with their which fulfills the wishlists of over 2000 kids this season. Along with our colleagues in the lighting community, we were personally able to provide the gifts for 17 kids—a new record. We are forever thankful to all our clients and colleagues that have helped to make 2025 a great year!

#G2LD is proud to share new images from our recently completed project, APA Corporation, with design lead by @genslerhouston From the beginning, this #corporateinteriors design stood out from the typical 'neutral office' palatte with the goal of building an edgier, industrial feel for the space. Lighting tucked behind the open mesh ceilings accentuates the material choices while throwing patterned light on the ground plane for a decidedly non-office vibe, while other elements detail into milwork and coves to lend the look of hospitality to this modern office. #houstonlightingdesign #texaslightingdesign #officelighting #thenewoffice #lightingmatters

Constructed of mass timber, and employing numerous earth-friendly strategies throughout (including stringent energy goals for and dark sky friendly lighting), Jack's Cafe and Reflections Event Space truly represent the Houston Zoo commitment to sustainability. (Side note: G2LD also enjoys a project where we get to visit baby elephant on site visits.)

How do we approach a project site that is both urban and natural, that is visited by the City's citizens at all hours of the day but is also protected wildlife habitat?

This was our question when we began the recently opened Memorial Park Running Complex. Featuring a 400 meter timing track, viewing decks, event plaza and terrace, gathering spaces, trails, cafe and parking, the goal of the team was to control the beam spreads to light only the areas needed for safety with little to no spill into the adjacent habitats. Lighting was carefully evaluated for evenness--avoiding debilitating shadows and glare without overlighting. As with all of our projects with the lighting is all compliant and a warm color temperature to minimize the effect of blue light on human and animal circadian rhythms.

Very proud to announce that G2LD was selected to be a part of the design team, lead by HKS Architects and Perkins&Will, to design one of the nations largest and most-innovative pediatric campuses for Children's Health in Dallas, Texas. This 4.5 Million Sq. Ft, 552 bed facility has a budget of 5 billion dollars and will take 6-7 years to construct.
