Houston Battalion Army ROTC

.

Reflecting on the past month, our Cadets, and their companies, have accomplished a lot. They have shown their commitment by showing up to their labs, participating, taking notes, and executing what is expected of them.

Here we would like to recognize some special moments for our Companies. Especially, a big applause to Bravo Company for winning the Drill and Ceremony company competition. As a reward, they earned a guidon streamer for them to parade proudly during formations. We also made sure to celebrate some of our Cadets for their birthdays, showing our appreciation and thankfulness in their special days.

Lastly, our Cadets have done a marvelous job honing the basics through the warrior skills, first aid, weapons instruction, etc. We wish everyone a clear mind as we approach midterms.

Building the fundamentals.

Our Cadets conducted Preliminary Marksmanship Instruction (PMI), focusing on weapons safety, M4 fundamentals, proper firing positions, and hands-on training. Through instruction and practical application, Cadets developed the skills and confidence needed to prepare for the range.

Deeds not works

Cadets put their land navigation skills to the test during the Land Nav Course, using teamwork, determination, and navigation skills to find their way through the course.

Congratulations to Cadet Antolin Brandon for earning 2nd place in the Orange Course 18+ bracket. Great work by all of our cadets who took on the challenge

Hand Gr***de Lab

This Thursday our Cadets put their skills to the test while building confidence and learning proper hand gr***de techniques.

Deeds, Not Words.

Thursday’s Lab: Train. React. Lead. 🇺🇸

This Thursday, our Cadets took on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), putting their skills to the test through hands-on training, teamwork, communication, and realistic scenarios.

We also brought the competition with our Drill & Ceremony Competition! Each company stepped up and showed their discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail.

🏆 Congratulations to Bravo Company for taking home the win!

Another Thursday in the books—training hard, competing together, and building future leaders.

This morning UH ROTC’s Cullen Ri**es held a shooting range session, instructed by Cadet Yong and SFC Kozak, for their camp bound Cadets. The first session of the year, it helps these participants gain confidence with their weapons and get extra practice. Not only does this practice session build upon their skills, but helps them build a stronger sense of camaraderie as they learn together and teach one another. A big applause for these Cadets for dedicating their free time towards improving themselves. We hope to see new faces next time as we continue working on the necessary skills to pass Cadet Summer Training.

Less than 24 hours until our MS4s pin those gold bars and officially go from cadets to Second Lieutenant🇺🇸
