Revved on Recycling!
It's America Recycles Day and CCSC is celebrating the 6,000+ plastic bottles our staff, volunteers and clients have saved from landfills by using our bottle-filling stations. Kudos also to our volunteers and staff for using glass instead of plastic cups and recycling cardboard and paper. You rock!
Work hard, play hard!
Our wonderful Council of Church Representatives works all year to bring CCSC news to our member churches, so we wanted to end their year with some fun! Thank you, everyone, for all you do to promote CCSC within your churches, and for playing CCSC Trivia with us. We had a blast!

A Happy & Safe Halloween to All!
We had all sorts of Halloween helpers at Emergency Services-Central this week--ghosts in the warehouse, a black cat and ladybug in the food pantry, a Jurassic Park duo and others all brought some extra fun to volunteering this week. Our staff and volunteers are the BEST!
October is Service Month at Mustang Cat and yesterday a team of employees came out to help us with a service project, repackaging rice and beans from 50-pound bags into two-pound bags, the size CCSC distributes through its food pantries. This hardworking crew repackaged 1,350 pounds of rice and beans! Thank you to the team and to Mustang Cat for its longtime support of our Emergency Services programs.
CCSC's JobNet program offers basic to advanced computer classes. Call 713-626-8320 or visit ccschouston.org for more information. Thanks to our volunteer instructors, Bill Kersten, pictured, Steve Weddle, Pam West and Frances Alberti, and our computer lab assistants Bob McMahan and Jan Johnson!
