We welcomed a group of our Hope Builders, CCSC’s monthly donors, to a summer social to meet one another and hear CCSC President & CEO Michelle Shonbeck speak about The Hamill Foundation East End Food Pantry slated to open this fall at 2002 S. Wayside Drive. Michelle also recognized the meaningful impact our monthly donor community has on CCSC.

Our Hope Builders enjoyed fantastic food from St. Luke's UMC - Houston's PX Project + PX Cafe, a workforce development fellowship initiative designed to help young adults build skills, confidence and career pathways. To learn more about the CCSC Hope Builders, email Amy Price at [email protected].

A group of St. Agnes Academy faculty spent time with us before the start of school and enthusiastically assembled 600 hygiene kits for families in need. Our hygiene kits contain shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and an extra such as a first-aid kit or nail clippers and a file (soap and toilet paper are given out with our grocery packages). Big thanks to these fun folks! Have a great school year!

CCSC needs manual can openers!
Not all the canned goods we distribute to food pantry visitors are pop-tops, and many of our clients need a manual can opener to access their food. Please help by donating manual can openers at 3434 Branard St., 10:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. THANK YOU, CCSC friends!

This fun group from The Church of St. John the Divine made quick work of assembling 600 hygiene kits for visitors to our two food pantries. Thank you!

Christmas in July, what a gift!
CCSC supporters donated nonperishable food, rice and beans, hygiene items, and shoes and clothing for visitors to CCSC's food and clothing pantries. Learn English at CCSC!
ESL classes, beginner to intermediate, are taught through CCSC's Workforce Development Program. The next classes begin in early September. To learn more about the program and register for a class (before Aug. 28), please call 713-626-8320. Computer classes taught in Spanish are also available.
