Rest in Paradise Changa
Today has been a very heartbreaking day. Changa and her pup were one of the very 1st dogs we rescued when our non-profit Rescue was created. Changa was 4yrs old and her pup, Obie was 5 wks old... that was 11 years ago.
Today Changa has earned her Angel Wings and was helped to cross the Rainbow Bridge. She had a wonderful day yesterday. Her mama and Dad took her to the park. She had a burger, a croissant , cookie, pup cup and for Changa this was amazing because of her diabetes she was on a strict diet most of her life.
I was able to visit with her and cuddle one last time and said a very tearful goodbye. Today on the way to the vet, Changa cuddled with her pup, Obie, and they said their goodbyes.
Thank you Victoria Burgin, for giving Changa her best life and never giving up on her regardless of all her health issues. She will be forever missed and loved 😪

Luna was abandoned and found by a neighbor who contacted us for help. Luna is completely vetted and is HW Neg. She is estimated to be around 2 years old and still has puppy energy. She is small, at only 35 lbs and is great with other dogs and children. She loves to play and already has learned basic commands, potty trained and crate trained. Luna's finder can not keep her as she is caring for an elderly sick parent and her personal dog and has her hands full. The finder has an appt to turn Luna into BARC on 2/10/22. We are looking to find a foster, foster to adopt or even another rescue that may have immediate intake availability so that we can save Luna from the fate that comes with being turned into BARC.
We cannot help Luna without a commited foster.
If you are able to foster or would like to foster to adopt please submit an application at PetRescueTeam.com/applications
If you are a rescue that has immediate intake availability please contact us at [email protected]

Marcellus IS NOT SAFE
He is a purebred Rottie. Very sweet and good with other dogs as you can see in this video released by BARC.
There were comments on another post of someone promising to go adopt him but when that did not happen, he was scheduled to be euthanized today.
There was not enough time and he was not euthanized today. We have been told he has until tomorrow 9am.
Please keep in mind that although the person in the video is saying that he has potential fosters or adopters, this is no longer true and we are in dire need of a foster to save Marcellus by 9am tomorrow.
If you are interested in helping Marcellus please submit an application at PetRescueTeam.com/applications

She is the sweetest girl. Full of energy and always ready to play. She gets along with all dogs, big and small. Not sure about cats as she hasn't been exposed to any.
Stella is fully vetted, spayed and vaccinated, potty trained and ready to find her furever family.

Fonzie was one of the dogs we rescued in the 1st years after starting PRT. He has a very special place in my heart, and always will. Yesterday, he lost his fight with Kidney disease and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I will be forever grateful to Matt and Erica Gannon for giving him his best life and loving him so unconditionally. RIP sweet Angel. You will be forever in my heart until we meet again.
This is what Matt posted:
"Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our sweet boy Fonzie, after a brief but brave fight with kidney disease. He was a beloved member of our family, and everybody loved "The Fonz". Fonzie, we miss you terribly and you changed our lives for the better forever ❤️ RIP Fonzie Gannon 2012-2022."

4TH OF JULY SAFETY TIPS:
4th of July is here and time to think about our 4 legged family members during the fireworks!
Just remember this is not a holiday to take your pets on your celebration with you.
More pets go missing on 4th of July than any other day of the year. Why? Because families make the mistake of taking them on their celebration or leave them outside. Loud noises and explosions will terrify a dog/cat and cause them to run for safety.
Unfortunately, they can't always find their way back home. Keep your pets safe inside during this holiday weekend.
Remember to double check their microchip information to make sure it is up to date. Make sure your pet has an ID tag on.

RIP our sweet Abby.... You have earned your wings, sweet girl.
This past week has been very hard for me.... On December 27th I went to visit a dog named Abby that I adopted out 4 years ago. She seemed so happy and healthy. Her mom was going to foster a pit puppy for PRT. Abby was so happy to see me and I her. I was overjoyed that she remembered me after 4 years. When I left I knelt down and kissed Abby and told her I loved her.... little did I know that would be that last day I would see her. on Jan 14th Abby was rushed to Vergi Emergency Hospital and it turned out she had a large tumor on her spleen that had gone undetected as she had never showed any symptoms or discomfort what so ever until this day. The tumor ruptured while at Vergi and Abby lost her fight. I am so super grateful to her mom, Jamie Tran for loving Abby so unconditionally and giving Abby her best life. I could not have asked for a better family. They loved each other so much and and were inseparable. I am so heartbroken for Jamie as she is completely devastated to have lost her heart dog and I am saddened that Abby's life was cut so short. She was a very special little girl and will forever live in our hearts until we meet again.
Abby's mom sent me this beautiful memorial letter about her beloved heart dog. Please take a moment to read how lucky they were to have each other and if you can take the time to write Jamie a few words of Support in the comments so she feels the love from the rescue community.

Sweet Blind Senior found wondering the streets
This sweet girl was just found on the street wondering and bumping into everything. No collar, no tags, no chip. Due to her age and being blind she was completely vulnerable and in severe danger on the street.. One of our volunteers noticed her and picked her up. We named her Princess.
She is obviously a senior and completely blind. She will be going to the vet to get a senior blood panel, heartworm test, vaccines, rabies and get completely checked out to make sure she doesn't have any major medical issues besides her blindness.
This Sweet Blind Senior is looking for a furever home to spend her Golden years in.
If you are interested in adopting Princess, please submit an application at PetRescueTeam.com/applications
If you would like to donate to help with Princess' vetting, we would be very grateful.
