We have some extraordinarily talented and creative students here at Houston City College!!!

Join us in congratulating HCC Interior Design Department alums and recent graduates (from left to right) Haleh Zahir Mirdamadi, Emely Montoya, Alhan Vazquez Galvan and Chandrika Duran for winning the student team competition for best Commercial Design this past weekend at the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Texas Gulf Coast Chapter's 2025 Ruby Awards.
HCC Interior Design’s Commercial Design Studio partnered with Houston City College - Coleman College for Health Sciences to envision a new Biotechnology Innovation Center. The team tackled a full-floor redesign within an existing building, working closely with Coleman administration throughout the process. This collaboration gave students invaluable hands-on learning and real-world experience, including direct engagement with clients, mirroring the professional design process from concept to presentation.

Clariza Reyes’ return to college lands her as 2025 Gucci Changemaker It had been eight years since Clariza Reyes fully finished a semester in college, and after one semester at Houston City College (HCC), the 28-year-old Interior Design student is now a Gucci Changemaker.

HCC Interior Design students Alissa Roepke and Taylor Hurst present a plan for Houston Community College's Spring Branch campus library to incorporate the Digital Access Center concepts. The students are excited to participate in this real-world project-based learning experience and the opportunity to team up with Spring Branch administration to improve learning environments for HCC students.
