After rolling it out to Android creators back in December, is now giving Shorts creators on iOS the capacity to choose a frame from their clip as their thumbnail within the Shorts creation process.
As per YouTube:
“Creators on iOS: We’re starting to roll out Shorts thumbnail selection to your devices. The ability to choose a frame from your Short to be used as the video’s thumbnail will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.”
To be clear, creators can already choose a thumbnail for their Shorts within YouTube Studio, but this new process makes it possible within the in-app upload flow, which could help to streamline your process.
To select a thumbnail frame for your Shorts:
• Record or import a video with the Shorts camera then navigate to the final upload screen
• Tap the pencil icon that is overlaid over the thumbnail of your video
• Scrub along your video’s timeline to pick a thumbnail then hit ‘Done’
• Upload your Short

Meta has announced that it’s making its new Meta Verified program available to users in the US, which means that American users will now be able to purchase a blue checkmark on Facebook or Instagram for $US11.99 per month on the web, or $US14.99 in-app, accounting for respective App Store charges.

As a Microsoft-owned company, it’s no surprise to see LinkedIn looking to add more AI elements into its platform, with Microsoft now seeking to integrate OpenAI’s conversational GPT back-end into virtually all of its apps and functions.
On LinkedIn, that’ll provide new options for creating your LinkedIn profile, while it’s also adding AI-generated job descriptions, as well as new educational opportunities into AI tech, via LinkedIn Learning.
First off, LinkedIn’s adding a new GPT-powered tool that will provide personalized writing suggestions for creating your LinkedIn profile.

Snapchat launched parental controls on its app last year through the new “Family Center” feature. Today, the company announced through a post on its online Privacy and Safety Hub it will now add content filtering capabilities that will allow parents to restrict teens from being exposed to content identified as sensitive or suggestive.
To enable the feature, parents can toggle on the “Restrict Sensitive Content” filter in Snapchat’s Family Center. Once enabled, teens will no longer see the blocked content on Stories and Spotlight — the platform’s short video section. The text under the toggle specifies that turning on this filter won’t have an impact on content shared in Chat, Snaps and Search.

Looks like Meta is NGMI, as some might put it.
Meta’s head of commerce and financial technologies Stephane Kasriel posted on Twitter that the company will sunset its NFT and digital collectibles features on Instagram and Facebook.
This short-lived product only began testing with select Instagram creators last May, plus some Facebook users in June. By July, Meta expanded NFT support on Instagram for creators in 100 countries. Less than a year later, Meta is moving on from NFTs.

After going through a brief boom period a couple of years back, where every social platform was looking to add in newsletter features, the option has cooled somewhat in recent months, with most now scaling back their newsletter creation options.
But on LinkedIn, newsletters have continued to grow, with the platform recently reporting that newsletter creation in the app was up 10X year-over-year.

’s new owner is making moves to build in more revenue streams for creators — or at least he’s tweeting about it.
Elon Musk announced Friday that the company would soon begin sharing advertising revenue with creators on the platform for the first time. The catch? Eligible users must be signed up for Twitter Blue, which starts at $8 a month.
