A special moment for Shelby, one of our Adults in Training Alumni! 🤩

Shelby recently had the opportunity to serve as a guest speaker at a Jonathan’s Place fundraiser, where she shared her powerful testimony and personal journey.

Afterward, she had the honor of meeting and spending a few moments visiting with former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush. What an unforgettable experience she’ll never forget!

This week, our AITs explored what it means to move mindfully, learning how posture, presence, attire, and everyday acts of courtesy can shape first impressions and future opportunities.

Through interactive activities and real-world scenarios, they practiced entering a room with confidence, sitting and standing with poise, making meaningful eye contact, dressing appropriately for different occasions, and understanding the role of modern chivalry in showing respect for others.

One of the biggest takeaways was that confidence isn’t about being the center of attention. It’s about carrying yourself with intention, awareness, and respect.

We’re proud of the growth, engagement, and thoughtful conversations that took place during Week 3 of our Etiquette & Life Skills Training.

Thankful for everyone who joined us for May Professional Development: From Worksheets to Work Stations! 🌟

Together, we explored ways to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, independence, and meaningful skill development. We loved seeing educators collaborate, share ideas, and discover new strategies to bring their classrooms to life.

This month in Peer Groups, we kicked off our Etiquette & Life Skills series with Speak Up With Grace, a conversation about effective communication, self-advocacy, and navigating adult conversations with confidence.

Participants learned practical skills for asking questions, setting boundaries, handling difficult conversations, speaking up for themselves, and communicating with clarity and respect in everyday situations.

We learned that confidence is about knowing how to communicate with grace, even in uncomfortable moments.

✨ June Peer Groups: Etiquette Month ✨

Success isn’t just about what you know. Success is also about how you communicate, present yourself, and treat others.

This month, our AIT participants will focus on building confidence through effective communication, professional language, gratitude, digital awareness, personal presentation, and dining etiquette. These practical life skills help prepare individuals for success in the workplace, in relationships, and throughout their communities.

We’re excited to learn, grow, and practice these skills together throughout June! 🌟
