Congratulations to Dr. Sonja Schrepfer/UCSF and her team for completing the Microgravity as a model for immunological senescence and its impact on tissue stem cells and regeneration micro-gravity study.

STaARS is proud to announce that Dr. Sonja Schrepfer's 2-Organ CHiP experiment (https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/nih-funded-tissue-chips-rocket-international-space-station) was activated at GMT- 343:10:00 hours this morning. STaARS Operations personnel reported that activation was nominal.

Tissue Chips Take Flight The first of five initial tissue chip investigations funded through the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Tissue Chips in Space initiative launched on SpaceX CRS-16 yesterday.

The Nexus lab was launched to the ISS last week on OA8. Originally designed for small satellite use, the Nexus-lab can also accommodate advanced research assays and protocols within the ISS via the STaARS series experiment platforms. Read more about it by clicking the link in our bio!
