Santa Claus makes it look easy, but this Houston man learned the hard way that chimneys aren't an entrance as firefighters had to cut through stone to free him after a failed break-in attempt: https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/houston-stuck-chimney-burglary/285-6f65c2e3-66bd-4dcf-82e2-85df1c525da1?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KHOU_11_News

Demolition planned for abandoned southwest Houston bank building tied to homicide The site has sat vacant for years and, according to residents, has become a hotspot for illegal activity and unauthorized entry.

I spoke with Councilmember Tiffany D. Thomas about an abandoned bank building that’s become an eyesore.

I also did hear from residents, the property owner and Houston Public Works about the future plans for the property. Tune in at 5 on KHOU 11 News

KHOU’s Troy Kless joined me on Hillcroft to discuss the ongoing issues at the former Wells Fargo building.

Over the past 18 months, this location has been cited for multiple violations. It is a known encampment, a site for illegal dumping, and most recently, the location of a homicide in January.

While signage indicates a gas station is “coming soon,” the property owner has not submitted any permits—only an application for demolition.

We cannot afford to wait.

Tune in at 5 PM for more details.

Who’s cutting onions? 🥲

Today we celebrate Shern-Min Chow KHOU who is retiring. It was an honor to work with such a great colleague who led by example in being a phenomenal storyteller and journalist. Photographer Steve and I had to get a pic with the legend before her sendoff this afternoon.

Best of luck in this new and exciting chapter, you deserve it!
