This Memorial Day, the Houston Public Library Foundation pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

We reflect with gratitude on their sacrifice and recognize the enduring legacy of courage, service, and dedication they leave behind.

We will resume standard business operations on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

The Friends of HPL Warehouse will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, as we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We will reopen during regular hours ton Wednesday, May 27th.

Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who inspire a love of learning, storytelling, and imagination every day. 💐📚

Thank you for the countless bedtime stories, library visits, words of encouragement, and lessons that help shape brighter futures for generations to come.

🎉 Join us for our last book sale before we take off for the summer on Saturday, May 2nd from 10 am - 2pm at the Friends of HPL Warehouse, located at 6510 W. Little York Rd.

Adult paperback books are $2 each
Adult hardback books are $3 each
DVDs, Vinyl's, and audiobooks are all $1 each
