๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™ Yesterday, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of five Little Libraries donated by the Houston Public Library Foundation to Houston Health Department WIC clinics across the city!

These Little Libraries, along with HPLโ€™s new Newborn Library Card program, will help connect families with books and early literacy resources from the very beginning. Both programs are generously funded by Phillips 66. ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

A special thank you to Council Member Tasha Jackson for presenting a proclamation recognizing HPLF, HPL, and Phillips 66 for this important partnership, and to the Houston Health Department for helping bring these resources to families across Houston!

History came to life at the Julia Ideson Building as Houston Public Library commemorated the 250th Anniversary of American Independence with the presentation of a rare 1825 bust of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, generously loaned by the French-American Cultural Foundation.

We are honored to celebrate the enduring friendship between France and the United States while providing opportunities for our community to connect with history, culture, and lifelong learning. Thank you to the French-American Cultural Foundation and everyone who joined us for this memorable occasion.
