The Banff School

We are excited to welcome Dr. Demetrius Robinson to the Banff family as the instructor for our Middle School Vocal Performance class! An accomplished educator, conductor, and music leader, Dr. Robinson brings a wealth of experience from both K–12 and higher education. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music Education and Director of Choral Activities at Prairie View A&M University and has held teaching and leadership positions at the University of Memphis, Louisiana Tech University, and The Soulsville Charter School.

Dr. Robinson earned his Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Memphis, along with advanced degrees in educational leadership and choral conducting. Throughout his career, he has inspired students and educators alike as a guest conductor and music education leader across the country.

In addition to his teaching, Dr. Robinson is the Founder and Director of the Canorous Institute of Musical Excellence and serves as Senior Music Editor for Canorous Music Publishing, reflecting his commitment to developing excellence in music education both inside and outside the classroom.

Our middle school students are in for a treat as they learn vocal technique, performance skills, and musicianship from such an accomplished educator. Please join us in giving Dr. Robinson a warm Banff welcome! We're thrilled to have him inspire the next generation of performers!

We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Trey Feistler to our Banff family!

Mr. Feistler joins us with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Sam Houston State University and a fantastic background teaching theatre to homeschool students at Stageworks. This year, he will inspire our students in Kindergarten-12th grade on stage as the leader of our Performing Arts program! He’s also excited to bring history to life in the classroom as our 7th-grade Texas History teacher.

Mr. Feistler’s biggest goals for the school year are to build a strong, supportive community, make history hands-on and memorable, and help every student find their unique voice, whether in the classroom or on the stage!

Meet the Pk4 teacher Ms. Cristina Orjuela!

She has spent the last 26 years working in early childhood education, and truly believes that preschool is the most magical time of learning. She holds a master degree in education and has dedicated her career to nurturing early learners through play-based discovery and prepping their amazing minds to be ready for the next academic school year.

Her personal hobbies are taking nature walks, relaxing by the beach or pool, meditation and yoga classes, reading, and traveling. A lot of her teaching experience over the years has been done overseas in a variety of beautiful countries.

☀️ STAFF SUMMER CHECK-IN: Upper School Director Takes on Mexico! 🇲🇽🚢

Before kicking off another exciting school year, Upper School Director Ms. Libby Bennett traded back-to-school plans for palm trees and set sail on a summer cruise to Mexico! From beautiful ocean views to tropical adventures, Ms. Bennett enjoyed a well-deserved summer getaway before heading back to Banff. Now she’s refreshed, recharged, and ready to welcome our students, families, and faculty for an amazing new school year! We hope that suitcase is unpacked, Ms. Bennett, because the halls of Banff are about to be full of excitement! 🐻❤️

Welcome back, Erica Bennett!

We're thrilled to welcome Erica Bennett back to Banff as the newest member of our Morning Care Team!

A proud Banff Class of 2025 graduate and former Prefect of House Grizzly, Miss Bennett is now studying Early Childhood Education at the University of Houston. She couldn't wait to return to the Banff community and begin putting her growing knowledge and skills into practice with our youngest learners.

As a Banff alumna, Miss Bennett understands what makes our school special, and we're excited for her to share her enthusiasm, compassion, and leadership with our students each morning.

We are excited to welcome one of the newest members of our Banff family! A graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Elementary Education, Mrs. Cox brings 9 years of classroom experience to our students. After a rewarding season as a stay-at-home mom, she is excited to return to education and continue doing what she loves in one of our 3rd grade classes. She is passionate about creating a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every student feels welcomed, valued, supported, and challenged to grow. She enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, and getting lost in a good book.

Congratulations to Coach Binyon!

We are proud to share that Athletic Director and Coach Shea Binyon has been appointed to the TCAL Board of Directors, where he will help oversee and support schools across the Houston, Beaumont, and Galveston regions.

Coach Binyon is passionate about growing athletic programs, strengthening competition, and creating meaningful opportunities for student-athletes. We are honored to have him represent The Banff School in this important leadership role.
