We’re still reflecting on the beautiful Mother’s Day workshop we hosted for our FOCUS moms last month. 🌸❤

One of the highlights of the day was an art therapy session led by Romy, CEO of Xangó. Through a creative and reflective exercise, moms were invited to slow down, breathe, process their emotions, and reconnect with themselves. It was a meaningful reminder that caring for mothers means caring for their hearts and well-being, too.

This special event was made possible through the generosity of a dedicated team of volunteers from St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church of Houston, our incredible Youth Equipped to Serve volunteers, and a generous anonymous donor. From setup and childcare to activities and cleanup, so many people shared their time, talents, and love to create a joyful and restorative experience for the moms we serve.

From May 27–30, participants from across the country gathered in Houston for the 2026 Servant Leadership Gathering, a weekend of prayer, discussion, relationship-building, and hands-on service centered on growing as servant leaders in Christ. ❤️

Throughout the weekend, participants explored how to respond to uncertainty with faith, compassion, and a commitment to serving others. They also had the opportunity to serve alongside FOCUS Houston and witness firsthand the ministry's work supporting mothers and families in the local community.

We are deeply grateful to FOCUS Houston for hosting us and to our guest speakers for sharing their wisdom, experience, and encouragement. We leave inspired by this group of young leaders and excited to see how they will continue making Christ's love visible in their own communities. ☦️

We’re grateful to serve as a host site for a meaningful community initiative in partnership with researchers at Rice University. 💙

Through this project, researchers have been meeting with some of our pregnant and postpartum moms—offering health screenings and confidential, one-on-one conversations that help elevate their voices and better understand how to support their needs.

It’s been a joy to partner with such a dedicated team, and to create space where our moms feel heard, cared for, and valued. Hospitality is at the heart of what we do at FOCUS, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to live that out in this way! ☦️
