This weekend is a wrap of season 3 of and it will also be our last show. It has been an amazing run that I will cherish always. I had the opportunity to listen and tell stories with friends that I’ve known for a long time and new friends hearing their stories for the first time. I have had the opportunity to learn a new talent outside of the kitchen that I never knew I had and to be able to see the restaurant industry in a new light. It’s an industry that I truly love and want to see the people that have chosen it be the best they can be.

I want to thank the team for teaching me this new side and all of those team members that let me just be me. Nobody tried to tell me what or how to do things, they just let me be me and created a beautiful show around that. I can’t thank you Dawn, Vlad & Eugene enough for this experience. Thank you for asking me to go down this path.

I also want to thank the viewers of this show that went out and tried new restaurants and supported these places that make our city so wonderful. It’s been one heck of a ride that I am so thankful for and I can’t wait to show you ……. What’s next.

and I love living in the Montrose part of Houston. On a walk a few blocks from our house the Night Herons come to roost and the babies were just coming out to see the world. You could hear them from blocks away. Such beautiful moments before the heavy rains came through and beautiful to see the next generation of birds that will be back to start new lives next year.

What’s happening team! My new series “Breaking Bread” shot out of a cannon with an incredible first show with Bun B at the Founder’s Club at the . This weekend, we have my good friend , the cellist from the Avett Brothers. We got really lucky because the Avett Brothers are playing in Dallas on Friday, and when I asked Joe if he could detour to Houston on his way home from the first leg of the tour, he didn’t hesitate. We’re going to talk about all things music, food, life on the road, and more. Believe me when I say this show is not to be missed! There are tickets still available. Link in my bio.

Friday morning and I got to
at 5 am for Double Mastectomy, moving a muscle from her back, attaching it to her chest and then reconstructive surgery. She went through pre op and then right into surgery right at 7. She was in Surgery for 12 hrs when I got the message that she was in recovery, doing fantastic and I could see her shortly. The emotional roller coaster of a day was almost over. It was almost time and of course when I walked in to see her, as always she was smiling ear to ear. What we had been told is that she would stay in the hospital from 2-5 days so we were prepared. The next morning LB called me and said that the team had been by to check on her and decided that she was good enough to go home and recover. I literally couldn’t believe it!! We are now at home with to start the healing process. Thank you to the Medical team that took care of Lindsey and everyone that walks through those doors, you are so amazing at what you are do. I will actually add that to all the Medical Professionals out there everywhere making people feel better and changing their lives.

Thank you to all the messages, prayers and well wishes, they filled our hearts. Now on to recovery!!!

This morning we woke up to a beautiful surprise in our front yard which symbolizes a focus on screening and early detection for cancer. This acts as a visual prompt for mammograms and self-exams to identify cancer early. and I would be in a very different place right now if it weren’t for Lindsey being diligent about making sure that she was getting not just mammograms but also ultrasounds. once spoke about having dense breasts and this being the path and Lindsey chose that path as well so a big thank you to her as well. We would like to thank whomever was so kind to do this to make our day brighter, you are so thoughtful and amazing.

Tomorrow marks a big day for us as heads into surgery for a double mastectomy and full reconstruction as she continues her journey through the Topaz Trial. This is a reminder that you can do your early testing as well, they aren’t just for if you are diagnosed but to help with before. I will forever be a fan of the medical teams that everyday work with love and compassion to help people with their journey. You all are so fantastic!

It’s amazing to see so much joy all on the face of as she continues to kick Cancer’s backside!!! She is such a rockstar and I’m so in awe of her. Today she was able to ring the bell as she finished her 15 rounds of Radiation over the past 3 weeks.
Again, a huge thank you to the team for all of your help and energy for not just taking care of Lindsey but taking care of everyone that is going through their journey. I have had the opportunity to sit and watch how you work with each person with kindness, respect and love. I will say that if you are going through this journey, no matter where you are on this journey take joy in these moments. I know it’s hard, take these moments for you and your family to smile. We are all proud of you!
