By connecting talented young people with opportunities to learn, grow, and lead, we are investing in the next generation of professionals and community leaders.

I’ve always supported the organization mission but this was an opportunity to see their incredible work up close, meet the team, and reimagine how partnerships can strengthen the Houston community. Today is a moment to celebrate a leader whose name will now travel far beyond our city, inspiring all who pass through Houston. Honored to be with my friend Fmr. Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter and her family at the dedication of Terminal E, named in honor of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee a tireless advocate and visionary leader whose unwavering commitment to her constituents, mentorship, and public service left an indelible mark on Houston and the world.

It was great to join the 2026 CEO Welcome Reception at the Texas Black Expo as we kick off the 23rd Annual Summer Expo. Always inspiring to see leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members coming together to build opportunity.

Took the rail for a behind the scenes look at Houston’s theater districts, a reminder of the importance of transit and strong arts spaces. Transit connects people to opportunity, and our theater districts connect us to culture, creativity, and each other.

Joined leaders from across the country in Washington, D.C. to visit with Victoria Barton, Associate Administrator for the Office of External Affairs, and engage U.S. Senate offices on the FEMA Act, advancing policies that strengthen resilience, response, and recovery nationwide, and most importantly here in Houston. Having experienced major disasters over the years and seen the devastation to our communities, I know how important it is to get this right.
