A chewed water line behind drywall can cost thousands before you ever see a stain.
These two squirrels were working on it inside a Houston home's second-story wall. We caught them on camera and stopped the damage before the leak started.
We install a one-way door so they leave on their own, then seal every entry point with color-matched aluminum built to hold up against chewing.
Naturalcare Pest & Wildlife โ humane removal, permanent exclusion.

Seeing animals on your roof or hearing scratching, running, or rolling sounds above your ceiling?
Thereโs a good chance raccoons or squirrels may be getting into your attic. ๐ฆ๐ฟ๏ธ
This time of year, wildlife often looks for quiet, protected areas to nest, and attics are one of the most common places they choose.
๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ:
โข Scratching, running, or thumping sounds in the ceiling
โข Animals seen on the roof or near vents
โข Chewed or damaged roof vents, soffits, or gable vents
โข Insulation moved or pulled apart for nesting
โข Droppings or strong odors in the attic
Important: Donโt seal an opening until you confirm what is inside. If pups are present, sealing the entry point too soon can create a bigger problem.
Once inside, raccoons and squirrels can damage insulation, chew openings larger, and create ongoing entry problems if the access points are not properly repaired. Raccoon latrines can also create unsanitary attic conditions that may need proper cleanup.
At ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐ & ๐ช๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ, we inspect the roofline, identify entry points, remove the wildlife activity, and install exclusion repairs to help keep animals from getting back inside.
If youโre hearing noises in the attic, itโs best to have it inspected before closing up any openings.

Most homeowners never see this part of the job โ but it's where the real fix happens.
Squirrels don't need much. A gap at a gable vent, a soft spot in the soffit return, a chewed corner where the roofline meets the wall โ that's all it takes. Once they're in the attic, you get shredded insulation, exposed wiring, and a nesting site that brings fleas and mites along for the ride.
๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฒ'๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ:
Confirming the active entry point and ruling out young in the nest
Sealing every secondary gap along the roofline, vents, and trim
Installing a one-way door at the active hole so the squirrels exit on their own
Returning to permanently close the entry once the attic is confirmed clear
Trapping alone doesn't solve a squirrel problem. Exclusion does. The goal isn't to chase animals out โ it's to make sure they can't get back in, and that the next family of squirrels looking for a winter den keeps moving down the street.
Every home is built a little differently, so every exclusion is custom-fit to the structure. And yes โ fall protection on, harnesses tied off, because going home at the end of the day matters more than any single job.
At ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐ & ๐ช๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ, humane wildlife exclusion is a core part of what we do. If you're hearing scratching in the attic, seeing chewed trim, or just want a roofline inspection before the next cold snap, reach out.
