I had the opportunity to attend a lecture delivered by Michael Eric Dyson titled "BHM, BLM, DEI, CRT, AI, AP and MLK: Alphabets Against American Amnesia". He definitely dropped some serious knowledge! If a recording is made available, I will share.

As a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Speakers Committee, I attend different community/association/business group meetings/gatherings comprised of Texas HS seniors (or rising seniors) or the parents of HS seniors to share information on The Show's Scholarship Program. Houston-We had great turnouts at our resident Early Childhood and Economic Mobility Focus Groups today. We have one additional Economic Mobility focus group scheduled for tomorrow at 2pm at Galena Park Library and a Youth Mental Health focus group scheduled for Friday at 9:30am at Aldine Library. AMNY Consulting Group is conducting focus group research for the Greater Houston Community Foundation's High Impact Grantmaking initiative. Our next focus group topic area is Economic Mobility. We invite parents and residents who live in the Greater Houston area and want to share barriers you have faced to achieve financial stability for yourselves and your children, to register. See flyer for details. Note: Slots are limited. Preregistration is required to receive a confirmation email from AMNY Group that you have been selected to participate. No onsite registration is permitted.

Because many I know and love suffer and have suffered from this debilitating disease, our AMNY Friday Feature (back from a short summer vacation hiatus) shares the announcement that the FDA U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Biogen's Leqembi (lecanemab-irmb) via the Accelerated Approval pathway for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
