Willa was adopted from the shelter as a teeny tiny baby in 2024 (peep her adorable puppy photo).

Fast forward two years and somehow she found herself right back at the same shelter on the euthanasia list.

She got lucky and scored a 24 hour extension, but then yesterday her 1pm deadline passed and it became clear no one was coming for her.

But Willa got lucky...really, really lucky.

One of the shelter employees had been watching her and remembered her from when she was there as a tiny baby TWO YEARS AGO. She reached out to us and asked if she could foster her if we would save her life.

Ummm…YES.

While we know a Dane mix is a pretty shocking tag for us...mostly because she is not a cattle dog 🤣 she needed somewhere to go, she had a great foster willing to give her that somewhere, and she sure as hell didn’t deserve to die.

So yesterday, Willa walked out of that shelter for the third and FINAL time.

Inde is one of Liberty’s six puppies who, just a few weeks ago, were sitting on the euthanasia list at our local shelter. Somehow, this little family received an unprecedented six euthanasia list extensions, and we are so beyond thankful they’re all still here.

Today, they’re happy, healthy, thriving little chunky babies. They turn 8 weeks old this week and are ready to fly the coop! 4 of the 6 are already adopted and have their transport booked to meet their forever families!

Inde is absolutely adorable, friendly, playful, and basically everything puppy dreams are made of.

He is looking for an active family ready for all the fun and work that comes with raising a puppy. His mom, Liberty, is a 45lb cattle dog mix and your guess for Dad is as good as ours.

His forever family should be committed to him for life, including training, plenty of activity, lots of love, and obviously an unreasonable amount of puppy treats.

🐶 CESAR - 4 months old | Great Pyrenees
Cesar is one happy boy whose favorite activity is apparently playing in mud pits with his Great Pyrenees foster friends. Because why be clean when you can be fabulously filthy?

🦖 RUSSEL - 10 months old | Cattle Dog
He's got that classic cattle dog energy and is definitely cattle-dog clingy. Russel is perfect chaos in the best possible way exactly as you'd expect from a cattle dog.

🌭 LIZY - 1 year old | Dachshund Mix
Lizy was saved from the euthanasia list and is settling into her foster home. She's warming up, enjoys belly rubs, and is not a fan of being held. Which is fair - she may have a teeny body, but she's got a BIG personality and we are here for it.

💦 GIBSON - 4 years old | GSD Mix
Another pup saved from the euthanasia list! Gibson is a water-loving, fetch-loving, all-around good boy with the cutest ears this side of the Mississippi.

🐾 FRECKLES - 6 months old | Cattle Dog Mix
Freckles was saved from an overcrowded shelter outside of Houston. He's already proving what a good boy he is and he's got all the potential to become the BEST boy.

🛋️ MARTY - 6 years old | Anatolian Shepherd
Saved from the euthanasia list, Marty is the sweetest older gentleman. He enjoys snacks, snoozes, and has officially claimed the couch as his own. And heck that's alright by us cuz he deserves it.

Every one of these dogs has a story that could have ended very differently. Instead, they're safe in homes, getting lot's of lovies while we work on finding them their perfect forever homes.

Marty is a cute older gentleman who has now been on the euthanasia list for the past three days. If you know anything about how overwhelmed the shelter system is here in Houston, you know how incredibly rare it is for a dog to receive that many extensions.

We’ve heard from volunteers that Marty is a pretty great guy, and we would LOVE to save his life. But we have to have somewhere for him to land.

Can anyone open their home to Marty for four short weeks? We already have another foster ready to take over on 9/11.

Food and any supplies needed will be provided. You just provide the safe place. 🩵

🎶🎶 Meet the new girls on the block! 🎶🎶

Keeping up with social media is tough when we're constantly taking in dogs and running around doing rescue on top of our day jobs... but these gorgeous gals are just too beautiful to keep to ourselves.

Please help us welcome FOUR incredible ladies who were all on the euthanasia list at two different shelters this past week. Instead of spending the weekend in a trash bag, they're safe, loved, and getting the chance to live the lives they deserve.

🐾 Annabelle – 3 years old, Heeler mix
She's the sweetest little chunker, and her foster mom is already obsessed with her new cuddly shadow.

🐾 Lyric – 10 months old, Heeler mix
Teeny, tiny, and she smiles when she's being held. She's a playful little bebe, and no matter what heeler chaos she's about to unleash on her foster mom, she can do no wrong... because she's just that cute.

🐾 Sasha – 2 years old, Husky mix
This adorable girl wears her heart on her sleeve. When she's happy, her tail curls into the cutest little Q. Sasha got incredibly lucky she was granted a 24-hour extension on her euthanasia date, and that, paired with an amazing foster mom, is the only reason she's still earth side today.

🐾 Emberly – 6 years old, Aussie mix
Little mama is terrified. It's clear she's been through the unthinkable, and her badly matted coat tells the story of severe neglect. Even so, she is unbelievably sweet. She'll need extra time to decompress, but she's already enjoying the simple comforts of a full belly, a safe place to rest, and a foster fur sibling to help her learn that life can be good again.
