One goal of is to share some common signs of fraudulent contractors so homeowners can protect themselves. One of the simplest tips? Check their license plate and/or driver’s license to see where they are really from, and make sure their business address isn’t a temporary P.O. Box. Other red flags include a contractor who claims they are approved by FEMA or another government agency, and requiring payment upfront.
