Our Q2 Squad Happy Hour was a great opportunity to step away, spend time together as a team, and enjoy an evening of friendly competition and connection.

At Game On HTX, our team was divided into groups and put to the test through a series of interactive games inspired by popular TV game shows. It was a fun way to collaborate, communicate, and share plenty of laughs along the way.

Moments like these remind us that strong teams are built not only through collaboration in the workplace, but through time spent connecting beyond it.

In this newly established leadership role, Rachel will partner closely with the firm's leadership team to oversee firmwide business operations, supporting strategic initiatives, organizational alignment, and continued growth across Abel Design Group's offices and market sectors.

Previously serving as Director of Marketing for The Goree Companies, Rachel has helped advance strategic initiatives and support collaboration between Goree and Abel Design Group since Goree's majority investment in the firm in 2023.

Steel, structure, and scale are beginning to take shape at 55 Seventy as construction continues to progress on this hospitality-focused private wine club experience.

The current phase of construction offers an early look at the architectural framework behind the project, where the scale of the space, expansive openings, and defining structural elements are beginning to come into view.

As construction continues, the vision for 55 Seventy is steadily taking shape, with completion currently projected toward the end of the year. We look forward to sharing more progress as the project continues to evolve.

Before a concept is ever presented to a client, there are hours spent gathering materials, comparing finishes, testing combinations, and talking through how each selection contributes to the overall vision for the space. These working sessions are where collaboration, creativity, and strategy intersect.

There’s something inspiring about listening to designers navigate this stage of the process in real time, exploring possibilities, refining palettes, and building a story through materiality. Watching ideas evolve through conversation and physical samples is often where the personality of a project first starts to take shape.

From tile and textiles to wood tones and finishes, the design process often begins with a single element that sets the tone for everything that follows. This week’s tile selection became the foundation for a broader material palette, guiding the direction of texture, color, contrast, and visual cohesion throughout the space.

By layering materials intentionally, we begin establishing the design language early in the process, creating a palette that helps bring the overall vision into focus.

We’re excited to share that Vishakha Joshi will once again represent Abel Design Group as a Best of NeoCon juror at this year’s event in Chicago, taking place June 8–10.

She will join a distinguished panel of industry leaders to evaluate standout innovations in commercial design as part of one of the industry’s most anticipated events.
