Come join others for an 8-week grief recoveryprogram at MDPC. It offers a safe place to experience comfort and connection with other grievers and with God. Trained facilitators guide the group.

"A Prayer:
So much in this world
groans and aches and shakes
and drowns and sinks
and longs
to rise
to escape
to somewhere safe and somewhere dry.

And we, with gulf coast neighbors
ache and shake
and groan as we remember
water’s wake and weight;
we wait
and pray Your presence in the pain.
We beg for hope to follow rain.

the surge has weakened,
levies held; and so
we hold
in prayer
those seeking
Refuge:
anchor in Your peace
all who live in fear.

those who’d race for
Rescue:
but cannot move,
please run to meet them there.

those who work for
Restoration:
grant them of Your strength
to hear, and feel, and see
Your hurt for this Your world

You weep when terror triumphs
You cry when earthquakes roll
You grieve when lives are lost
You want us all to know

that You’ve not left us here to ache
alone
or groan
just on our own.

we’re here to be
Your hands and feet
Your deep, deep love
so all might see
You came to be
Refuge.
Rescue.
Restoration."
