Honored to have been invited to live paint during Community Day with the in support of the future . Always grateful to be alongside artists, storytellers, and local organizations to celebrate and preserve the stories that shape our communities. This painting will make its way to Washington D.C. to the museums learning lab and later make its way back to Houston. Excited to share more soon. ๐Ÿซ€

I donโ€™t always share the live paintings I create, but thereโ€™s something uniquely special about each one. Gestural lines, sketch marks made directly in paint, layers of color mixing due to the lack of dry time.

This piece was completed in roughly four hours. The energy of the crowd always finds its way into the work with these. I really like the textures that came through in this one, thanks for looking! ๐ŸŒ‡

Rising suns, flowing waves, black orchids and hibiscus. ๐ŸŒบ

I had the privilege of traveling to Belize with the team. Although this started as an opportunity to give back, this experience felt like a beautiful exchange. I left with new friendships, clearer vision, and deep gratitude.

This mural was painted for a preschool run by a family that continues to say yes to their community, yes to showing up, yes to meeting needs, yes to the work. Itโ€™s a mural about brighter tomorrows, about faith, and about tending to whatโ€™s right in front of us.

Grateful to for planting the vision and opening the door, and to and for bringing this project to life with so much care. Excited to see what grows next.

Final photos for my mural at Pitner Park in Precinct 4. This mural was designed and created with the involvement of community leaders and residents who live near and use this park. The quetzal and surrounding patterns and flora are nods to the cultural roots of the people who live here - many with ties to Mexico and Central America. The vendors and children represent the daily movement of this busy street: walking groups, soccer practice and daily runners.
The crocheting hands serve as a reminder of the internal fabric, the culture, care, and traditions that continue to carry us.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the mural unveiling at Pitner Pocket Park in Precinct 4. This piece was a true labor of love, and Iโ€™m thankful for the chance to create something alongside and for the community.

Big thank you to Commissioner Lesley Briones for supporting public art initiatives like this and UP Art Studio for helping guide and execute the project.
