The Texas A&M Forest Service is about to release the Mechanical Fuel Reduction (MFR) Grant in an effort to help landowners reduce their wildfire threat within their communities. Texas landowners can be reimbursed up to $6,000 for decreasing their wildfire risk around their home (if approved for the MFR Grant).

The MFR Grant opens April 1st - April 30th. The application can be found online during that month. https://tfsweb.tamu.edu/mechgrant/

There are three treatment options to choose from:
4. Hand-cut treatment ($750/Acre) or,
5. Combination treatment ($1,500) or,
6. Mulched treatment ($2000/Acre).
