LIVE PERFORMANCE ETIQUETTE: A SPEEDRUN

Our events would not be the same without our incredible performers. Here are some quick and easy tips to follow tonight to make sure you’re the best audience member you can be.

1. Respect performance space. Our performers have put in hours upon hours of work to make sure their art comes across the way they intend it to. Be mindful of where you stand or walk.

2. RESPECT PERFORMERS. This may come as a given, but it must be mentioned. No touching the performers, grabbing them, moving them etc… most performers will choose to interact with you as an audience member if the number allows for it… you’ll be the chosen one if they so choose it. Respect also means…. Remember this ain’t about you. They are here for a limited time so please, avoid causing any distractions from their work.

3. Tip if you can. The world is ugly and hard, but money makes it better. Keep your favorite performers happy and fed by funding what they love and do best: art.

4. Be engaged! Cheer! Be a lively member of your audience. If your performer says jump? Don’t even ask how high, just do your best. Clap, woot, express your love.

Bottom line is: respect and support. We are all supposed to be here for each other in this community. This is a safe space. Make warm, happy, healthy.

Rotten Oddities is a Houston based artist who specializes in upcycling vintage portraits and stuffed animals and giving them her own creepy twist. Her best selling item is conjoined bears. This vendor is also one of two organizer of this event and hosts hardcore shows in Houston under .
