There are couples who pose for photos… and then there are couples who just exist together and somehow make everything feel like a scene from a love story.

Chris and Mackenzie are the second kind.

From the second we started, it wasn’t about direction or “what do I do with my hands.” It was quiet laughs, stolen glances, the kind of ease you can’t fake. The kind of love that feels like home. Watching them walk hand in hand, tucked into their own little world, I kept thinking… yeah, this is it. This is what forever is supposed to look like.

It’s soft. It’s steady. It’s full of joy.

And also, let’s be honest, a little bit of “we’re obsessed with each other and don’t care who knows it.”

September 18 cannot come fast enough. I already know their wedding day is going to feel exactly like this session did. Effortless, emotional, and full of those blink-and-you-miss-it moments that somehow mean everything.

Plot twist: the wedding photographer didn’t see her own proposal coming. 🤍
I was being full sass mode in the first clip because I had no clue where we were going, what to pack, or what was happening. Zero details. Fully surprised.
It was birthday weekend, and we took a trip to Galveston with his family. I had a tiny suspicion it might happen that weekend, but they completely threw me off. Like truly. I was in SHOCK.
Saturday morning we were told to be up, dressed, and out of the house by 6:45 AM for a “surprise” his mom planned for his dad. So naturally I’m thinking family photos or something sweet at sunrise.
We get to the beach, start walking, and then all of a sudden Chris and I are a little ahead of everyone else. I’m confused. He presses play on his phone and OUR song starts playing... God Gave Me You.
That’s when I lost it.
Hyperventilating. Shaking. Crying. He got down on one knee and I literally dropped to mine because I couldn’t stand. Full ugly cry. Full disbelief. Apparently I nodded yes while hyperventilating because I genuinely do not remember anything after that.
And the best part? A dear friend of mine was hiding and taking the photos the whole time. 🥹
He had the ring for 2 months. Designed it back in January. And somehow still managed to surprise me.
So yes... the girl who documents love stories for a living is officially living her own. 💍😭🤍
Still not over it.
