Nocona, a 27 lb, year old, bouncy, leggy, lovey BC mix girl needs help getting from her temp foster to her long term foster. Heartworm positive, she's TOOOOOO much of a bouncy BC for the current foster and their older Aussies, so we're moving her to Houston to go through treatment and we need your help!

Option 1: if anyone if driving tomorrow (Sunday 8/16), we can quickly coordinate transport to Houston via Bryan/ College Station (if any Aggies are driving) or Fairfield.

Option 2: Next weekend, either Saturday or Sunday

Alternatively, if anyone wants to FOSTER her through her heartworm treatment (and even potentially adopt her), this girl is ALL Border Collie and LOOOOOOOVES toys. She is also dog, cat *and* chicken friendly!

Welcome the latest BCSAVE'rrr to the family! Jupiter was found abandoned in a home in the Fort Worth area. Probably a BC/ Aussie mix, he's about a year old and 58 lbs. and is heartworm positive. We've got him to a foster who will take him through fast kill heartworm treatment, so he actually won't be available to adopt for several weeks but we've already learned he's people and dog friendly so when his treatment is near completion, we think he'll be very popular!

He'll be fostered in the San Antonio area for now, but if you think you might be interested in this cuddly ginger teddy bear, we'd recommend you get your adoption applications in now and get pre-approved.

We almost always try to post only happy and uplifting things, but this is important. We see a lot of horrendous things in the rescue world, but as Sara has so eloquently put it, we don't always know the whole story. Please check on your friends, neighbors, and family. This adorable young pup *still* needs to get from Graham TX (Young County Humane Society) to Bonham TX to go to his new foster. One to three drivers would probably work great. We're hoping for this Friday some time, or next Tuesday through Friday, and are pretty flexible on when and the route.

HOT LITTER UPDATE - AUSTIN (AKA STONE COLD STEVE "PAW-STIN")

🐾 Meet the ultimate little shadow! ❤️

This sweet puppy absolutely loves his people and wants to be wherever you are. If you've ever dreamed of having a loyal companion, he's your guy—just be prepared to never make another solo trip to the bathroom! 😂

He's the perfect mix of affectionate and active, making him an excellent match for a family that enjoys adventures and might even want to explore dog sports. He's already showing so much promise! He's working on clicker training and has already learned 6–7 cue words. He also loves nosework and is already enthusiastically searching for primary rewards. He loves to tug and will happily chase a ball or frisbee roller.

He's making great progress in all the important puppy skills, too. Potty training is going well, and while he occasionally gets a little carsick, he's improving every day. In fact, he recently handled two separate four-hour car trips like a champ! He is also good at walking on a leash.

Smart, eager to learn, and happiest by your side, this boy is ready to become someone's best friend for life. Experienced BC families with an ability to keep a dog from a working line happy please!!! 🐶💙

MONDAY JULY 20 - TRANSPORT HELP NEEDED FOR BUG'S PUPPIES - AUSTIN AREA TO LUBBOCK, TX !

Four of Momma Bug's puppies (Jiminy, Meadow, Spider and Swift) are getting transferred to a rescue partner in CO to help them get adopted faster, but they need a ride (or several) to make it there!

They are going from the Austin area to Lubbock, TX, where they are catching a flight to Woodland Park, CO.

We need one or more legs to get the pups from Austin to Lubbock on Monday July 20 - is anyone able to assist? BCSAVE can pay gas!

The pups are all up to date on their shots and can travel two to a crate, which can be provided (they're still wee little pups)

NUGGET NEEDS A HOME!!!!

If you recall, Nugget came from a shelter partner after being hit by a car, cracking his pelvis, and having to get his tail amputated. Then he got THREE different types of antibiotic resistant bacteria, and we thought he might not survive the subsequent infection.

After a consultation with Heart Of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center & 24 Hour Emergency Center, we decided to give Nugget more time to see if we could resolve the infections. One of the vet techs offered to foster and after pretty intense recuperative care over the last few weeks, Nugget is doing great and ready to find his FURever home!

Nugget is the sweetest, most loving pup, and is enjoying his time out of a cone! He's great with other pups and LOVES people, and would make a great fur-friend for an active home!

LOOKING FOR A BEST FRIEND WHO WILL LOVE YOU WITHOUT LIMITS?!?

Lego (~5 YO, 40-ish lbs) is STILL looking for a special home! One of our longer residents, Lego has been with us since 2023. He was almost adopted twice but needs a home that is more Met Museum than Grand Central Station. Lego is an introvert and full disclosure - he has bitten when placed in uncomfortable situations/ feels crowded and cornered.

BUT he has been living with the same foster for a LONG time now, and has had no issues. He is super smart, has gone to doggie school (with other dogs and people around) and learned TONS of tricks, loves treats, and really just wants to be your best friend.

🚶‍♂️ He's the perfect companion for long hikes in less-traveled places
🤗 Scratches behind the ears and cuddle sessions are his faves
🤝 He's your Ride or Die pup
🏠 House/leash/crate trained, active but not crazy, and LOVES treats and tricks
🐶 Does great with other dogs, but sometimes get snarky if they get in his space

He'd love to be in a mellow home with no littles where he could run and play in the yard with a fur-friend and snuggle with you the rest of the time. He can walk around the neighborhood but best if folks aren't rushing up to him as that can make him wiggy. He's a fantastic pup that just needs the right place to call his FURever home. 🏡❤️
