What to look for when scouting properties for your short term rental (STR) business ?

1: Is there an HOA/deed restriction? Most of the times HOA’s do NOT allow the property to be used as a STR and if they do allow, keep in mind HOA in Texas generally can impose rental restrictions on owners.

2: Location. Location. Location. How close is the property to a freeway? A grocery store? Is it easy for your guests to access the property?

3: The numbers must make sense. Make sure you know your number when it comes to the net profit you’d like to make. Do not go into a project blindly without knowing the numbers. It will cost you in the end.
