[Connected cars’ illegal data collection and use now on FTC’s “radar”]

Companies that offer such products "do not have the free license to monetize people’s information beyond purposes needed to provide their requested product or service," it wrote in a blog post on Tuesday. [Elevating Cybersecurity Awareness & Mitigating Risks]
CV Rao, President, CTO of Lotus TechPros:
In today’s digital landscape, organizations can be categorized into three distinct groups concerning cybersecurity:

3. Affected organizations grappling with the aftermath of cyber breaches, facing reputational damage, legal battles, and financial penalties.
Irrespective of current categorization, all organizations share a common desire: to bolster their security measures proactively and prevent cybercrime-related incidents.

[The spam came from inside the house: How a smart TV can choke a Windows PC]
The modern "smart" TV asks a lot of us. In exchange for connecting you to a few streaming services you use, a TV will collect data, show ads, and serve as another vector for bad actors. In a few reported cases, though, a modern connected TV has been blamed for attacks not on privacy, eyeballs, or passwords but on an entirely different computer. More... https://buff.ly/4d9ojFA
