Your lawn is talking. Are you listening? ๐ŸŒฟ Most lawn problems don't show up overnight; they've been building for weeks. Learning to read the signs early means you can fix things before the Houston summer makes recovery nearly impossible.

The fix for most of these starts the same way, healthy, biologically active soil that can buffer against extremes. Build that first and your lawn becomes a lot more forgiving. ๐ŸŒฑ

A little path goes a long way. ๐Ÿชจ๐ŸŒฟ
We love how a simple stepping stone walkway can completely transform a side yard or garden bed adding function without losing that soft, natural feel. Layered textures, mixed plantings, and rich dark mulch do the rest.
This is what thoughtful design looks like up close. โœจ

Front yard and Pollinator approved. ๐Ÿ This Gomphrena and Mystic Spires Sage pairing is one of our favorites right now.

Here's why this combo works so well ๐Ÿ‘‡
๐ŸŒธ Gomphrena (Globe Amaranth) One of the toughest summer bloomers you can grow in Houston. Heat-loving, drought-tolerant once established, and those papery clover-like blooms last from summer all the way into fall. Butterflies and bees absolutely love it, and it holds its color even in peak July heat.

๐Ÿ’œ Mystic Spires Sage (Salvia 'Mystic Spires Blue') A compact, reblooming salvia that's basically built for Texas summers. Deep violet-blue spikes that just keep coming, and native bees, honeybees, and hummingbirds can't get enough of the nectar. It's also deer resistant, which is always a bonus.

Together they create a long-blooming, low-maintenance pollinator magnet with serious color contrast. Purple spikes and magenta globes, it's a lot of summer in a small footprint... Plant both in full sun, water deeply but infrequently, and let them do their thing. ๐ŸŒฟ What pollinator-friendly pairings are you growing this summer? Drop them below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Gaillardia pulchella, Indian Blanket, Firewheel, is a true Texas native built for exactly what's coming. The heat, the dry spells, the relentless sun? This flower laughs at all of it and just keeps blooming straight through summer into fall. Pollinators love it, deer leave it alone, and it reseeds itself like it owns the place (because it does).

If your garden needs some color that won't quit when the temps climb, this is your flower. ๐ŸŒผ

We love this Eastern Redbud from a recent project๐ŸŒฟnaturally found through East and parts of West Texas. 'Hearts of Gold' is a cultivar, meaning it was selectively bred for that striking golden foliage.

In early summer that foliage glows golden yellow to chartreuse depending on light conditions, making it a strong focal point without relying on flowers. Low-maintenance, heat-tolerant, and genuinely beautiful year-round, it's a solid choice for Houston landscapes looking for something unique!

We added Giant Leopard Plant (Farfugium japonicum) to a recent landscape project, this plant is a shade garden secret weapon. Those bold, glossy, dark green leaves are striking year-round, and when the yellow blooms arrive, it's a full moment. It thrives in low light where a lot of plants struggle, stays evergreen through Houston winters, and requires almost zero maintenance. Mass it under trees, use it as a dramatic accent, or let it anchor a container planting.

Low maintenance, high impact. The best kind of addition to any landscape. ๐ŸŒฟ
