Did you know that approximately 4.1 % of the population will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer at some point during their lifetime? That's 4 out of every 100 people! But rates of both colorectal cancer cases and deaths have decreased by about 2% every year for the past few decades, largely due to the increase in screening, early intervention, and awareness!
For Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Core Primary Care is working with Natera, a hereditary cancer genetic testing company.
They will be in the clinic on March 2, offering free goodies, spreading the word about colorectal cancer, and helping patients figure out if hereditary cancer genetic testing is right for them. We look forward to seeing you!
🔷 The new recommendations for colorectal cancer screening via colonoscopy or Cologuard are to start screening at the age of 45. If you're 45 or older, check with your provider to see if you are due!
