What if mindfulness looked like creating?

At One Stitch At A Time, we’ll explore how simple handwork can become a practice of presence. As we knit, crochet, or embroider, we’ll slow down together, notice the rhythm of each stitch, and create space for calm amidst the busyness of life.

This workshop is for anyone seeking a gentler pace and a meaningful way to reconnect with themselves.

I have been reflecting on these words. In May, during the Vesak celebration I was blessed to visit our local Buddhist temples and gather with community to chant, share a meal, and be in the presence of Buddha Nature – the goodness that resides within each one, waiting to be felt and lived.

There will be no Thankful Tuesday session on June 2, but we invite you to continue your practice on your own this week.

Mindfulness doesn’t only happen when we gather—it can be found in a quiet moment, a few intentional breaths, or a brief pause in the middle of a busy day.

Today, consider taking a few minutes to:
• Sit comfortably and notice your breath
• Reflect on something you’re grateful for
• Allow yourself a moment of stillness without needing to accomplish anything

We’ll resume our live group meditation on Tuesday, June 9th at 12 PM CT and look forward to practicing together again soon.

When I pick up “Mama, I Will Send You a Purple Flower” I am reminded why I wrote it in the first place. 💜🐾

This story began with a rescue dog named Cuddles and the extraordinary bond we shared for 13.8 years. What started as a tribute to her became something much bigger—a collection of lessons about patience, acceptance, kindness, gratitude, and love.

As a psychiatrist, mindfulness teacher, and dog mom, I wanted to create a book that could offer comfort, hope, and reflection for readers of all ages.
