Message from Tim, OACE Director 🌴

After 47 years of ministry to the young church, 8 here in the great Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, I will be retiring on June 30, 2026.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve, and for the amazing gift that you are to the young church. It has been a privilege to share this journey with each of you.

Ministry isn’t just what you do, but it’s who you walk with. Be renewed, refocused, and re-inspired at Ascend with Deacon Bob Rice, and rediscover the power of forming disciples through relationship. Register today! ✨

WORDS OF WISDOM

“I try to impress on them that nothing is important in our teaching, preaching, and pastoral activities as the notion we convey of the God who underwrites it all. Every homily we preach, every catechetical or sacramental teaching we give, and every pastoral practice we engage in reflects the God who undergirds it. If our teaching is narrow and petty, we make God look narrow and petty. If our pastoral practice lacks understanding and compassion, we make it seem as though God lacks understanding and compassion. If we are legalistic, we make God appear legalistic. If we arer tribal, nationalistic, or racist, we make God seem tribal, nationalistic, and racist. If we do things that befuddle common sense, we make God out to be the enemy of common sense, Crassly stated, when we do stupid things in our ministry, we make God look stupid”

Youth Council celebrated their annual Advent Party. We also celebrated Randy's last Youth Council event before he makes his move to Special Youth Services.

Thank you, Randy, for all the wonderful work you've done for the Youth of this Archdiocese.
