It was truly a joy and privilege to spend time over several Wednesday nights at Central Baptist Church of Tyler with Pastor Joel Byers, sharing a series of apologetics presentations with such an engaged and thoughtful group.

Was Eve really created to be Adam’s “helper” in a weak or subordinate sense? In this episode of Truth Unbound, Dr. Walt examines the key Hebrew phrase in Genesis 2:18 and responds to the growing claim that “helper” is an androcentric mistranslation. Because it doesn't take hundreds of pages mixed with scientism to understand what God gave us clearly in just the first 3 chapters of Genesis alone. YEC takes the Bible at it's word plainly understood now as it was then, and let's God's Word stand on its own. It doesn't need rescuing or defending, it calls only for simple trust and belief in what it says alone, not believers acting like it's too weak to defend itself. That, Dr Ross, is the greater irony.

The great irony of the young-earth vs old-earth debate is that young-earth creationists believe the doctrine of biblical inerrancy demands a young Earth when, in fact, a literal, consistent reading of all the Bible's texts relevant to creation and science clearly refutes young-earth creationism and sustains old-earth creationism. I demonstrated this conclusion exhaustively in A Matter of Days, 2nd edition. However, I have found that most people will not take the time and study to read through 385 pages plus the 900+ articles and papers cited in the endnotes. Therefore, I have condensed the demonstration down to just 10 pages and 29 endnotes in chapter 14 of Rescuing Inerrancy.
