It was so great to learn about Sarah Edmonds Seelye, "The Unlikely Woman in Uniform," today. Renee Wojnowski has studied Sarah, aka Franklin Thompson,'s life and shared lots of amazing stories about this British subject who fought in the Civil War and died in La Porte, Texas.

Thanks to the DAR for the Patriotic and Christmas Singalongs at The Lodge at Pine Creek. Volunteers were given a party and certificate for our efforts by the sweet Lodge.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO OUR VETERANS AND BCA STUDENTS!

Happy Valentines Day! Nova Stippel and Mindy Merling from our Goose Creek Chapter helped the children at Baytown Christian Academy create Valentines for the Veterans at St James Assisted Living. Today two DAR members, Glenda Sandifer and Melanie Ferguson, delivered the valentines personally. Delivery help was provided by some children from Crockett Elementary and Cedar Bayou Jr. Schools. This project is part of America 250, DAR National Salute to Veterans week.
