Who Am I?
My name is Roger Asvestas. I’ve proudly called Montgomery home for many years and spent most of that time as a licensed real estate agent. Fifteen years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Despite the challenges, I continued working in real estate until recently—when stairs became more of a hurdle than a help.
While I’ve stepped back from selling homes myself, I haven’t stepped away from helping people. Now, I dedicate my time to connecting you with the right Realtor—someone who truly fits your needs and understands what matters most to you. And I do this completely free of charge.
🏡 Whether you’re buying or selling, I can help you find a trusted Realtor anywhere in the U.S.
📞 Have questions or need help finding the right Realtor? Call me at 832-588-3744—I’m always happy to help.

part 2 of my DBS journey.

I originally wanted to wait until after our upcoming family vacation to Yellowstone in June — I was taking the grand kids, and hiking with them was something I didn’t want to miss. But the doctor convinced us not to wait. That surprised me — I don’t usually trust doctors. But this one? Something felt different. So I said yes.
I had the surgery in April — just two months before Yellowstone. And yeah, it was scary. Someone was going to drill into my head. Even stranger? I was awake during the whole procedure. Talking to the doctors and nurses. Moving my arms and legs as they fine-tuned everything. It was surreal. But the craziest part? They gave me pain pills, and I only took one. That’s it. One pill. And I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t do pain.
And the results? Nothing short of life-changing.
Two months later, I was hiking Yellowstone with my grand kids. No shaking. No pills. For the past five years, I haven’t taken a single Parkinson’s medication. Zero. After needing 300 pills a month just to function, that’s nothing short of a miracle.
Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. I had nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

If you're considering DBS or know someone who is, I encourage you to watch the video of the moment they turned on my right-side simulator. (They had already done the left side.) Watching the tremor disappear instantly — it’s like flipping a switch. It still blows my mind.
DBS didn’t cure me, but it gave me something I thought was gone forever: my life. And I’ll never stop being grateful for that

From Shaking to Hiking: My Deep Brain Stimulation Journey

Before Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), my life was... well, miserable. Parkinson’s had progressed fast, and I was losing control — literally. I was taking 300 dopamine pills a month and still couldn’t stop the shaking. Eating felt like a comedy bit gone wrong — picture me trying to eat peas with a spoon, only to have them launch all over the floor and myself. You get the idea. Funny, maybe. But also exhausting.

At the time, my wife and I were living in Naples, Florida. But we noticed something: all the top doctors seemed to be in Houston, Texas. Meanwhile, my doctor in Florida wasn’t exactly inspiring confidence — he kept warning me about scary infection rates with DBS and pushed me to go to Tampa instead. It just didn’t sit right with me.

So, we made a bold move. We sold everything, bought a fifth wheel camper, and hit the road. We eventually landed at a campground outside Houston. One day, while browsing the internet, I stumbled across a TV interview — a Houston doctor and his head nurse were talking about DBS. Turns out, this doctor had performed over 500 of these surgeries with only a 1% infection rate (when the average at the time was 25%). That was enough for me — I scheduled an appointment.
