Promotion to Lieutenant โ€“ Mickey Brenner

Lake Hamilton Fire is proud to recognize and congratulate Lieutenant Mickey Brenner on his promotion from Firefighter to Lieutenant.

Lieutenant Brenner joined Lake Hamilton Fire after relocating from Florida to Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 2025. He brings with him many years of experience from a large metropolitan fire department in Florida, where he served in a variety of operational roles and gained extensive knowledge in fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue operations, and public safety. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to serving both his fellow firefighters and the communities he protects.

Mickeyโ€™s passion for the fire service began at an early age. At just four years old, he was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident and was rescued from the vehicle by a firefighter. That life-changing experience left a lasting impression and inspired a lifelong desire to help others during their most difficult moments. It was this experience that ultimately led him to pursue a career in the fire service and dedicate his life to public safety.

In addition to his operational experience, Lieutenant Brenner is deeply passionate about firefighter training and professional development. He believes that continuous training is essential to ensuring firefighters are prepared to meet the challenges of an ever-changing profession. Throughout his career, he has taken pride in mentoring younger firefighters, sharing his knowledge and experience, and helping others develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed. His commitment to training has made a positive impact on those he serves alongside and reflects his dedication to strengthening the fire service as a whole.

Since joining Lake Hamilton Fire, Lieutenant Brenner has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His promotion to Lieutenant is a reflection of both his extensive experience and the respect he has earned from his peers and supervisors.

Outside of the fire service, Mickey enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and staying active in the gym.

Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Mickey Brenner on this well-deserved promotion and thanking him for his continued dedication, leadership, and service to the citizens of the Lake Hamilton community.

This week, Lake Hamilton Fire Department had the opportunity to host Rusty Long with Siddons-Martin Emergency Group for a vehicle stabilization and extrication training class featuring Holmatro V-Struts.

During the hands-on training, crews stabilized a vehicle resting on its side and safely removed the roof. They also stabilized a vehicle resting upside down and completed a roof removal extrication scenario. These realistic evolutions allowed our firefighters to sharpen critical skills that may be needed when seconds count.

Training like this is essential to ensuring our personnel are prepared to handle complex rescue situations safely and effectively. Every hour spent training helps us improve our capabilities and increase the likelihood of a positive outcome when our citizens are experiencing one of the worst days of their lives.

A special thank you to Rusty Long and Siddons-Martin for providing this valuable instruction and helping us continue to grow as a department and to one of our local wrecker services who is a great community partner for providing the cars!

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to one of our outstanding community partners, Rick Dodd with Tillerys Towing, for providing the vehicles used during this training. Partnerships like these make high-quality, realistic training possible and help ensure our firefighters are prepared to serve our community when it matters most.

This week, Chief Doug Davey, Assistant Chief Justin Crowe, and Assistant Chief of Special Operations Chris Fee attended the Arkansas Fire Conference, where they gained valuable knowledge through training sessions, leadership development, and networking with fire service professionals from across the state.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in the fire service while building relationships that will benefit Lake Hamilton Fire and the community we serve.

We are also proud to announce that Chief Davey was re-elected as Executive Vice President of the Arkansas Association of Fire Chiefs. This achievement reflects his continued dedication to advancing the fire service and representing fire departments throughout Arkansas.

Congratulations, Chief Davey, and thank you to all three leaders for their commitment to professional development and bringing new ideas back to our department!
