Essential Learning Center

Today was a enjoyable zoo outing for Essential, the field trip was a success and the children had a great time.

Our toddlers went to visit the Arkansas Ranger Station in Hot Springs. After reviewing the ranger booklet, the kids were given a Jr Ranger Pin. We learned a lot about the outdoors.

April 22nd was Earth Day which is celebrated around the globe. ELC celebrated with teaching the kids about this celebration and letting them learn something about plants. As part of their celebration lead by teacher, Ms Peaches, the kids will be landscaping the front two section of the front garden areas of the building. This is going to be a massive adventure, but Ms Peaches assures everyone, "her children can do this!" If you wish to help them, contact the front office at 501-547-3050 and ask what can you donate. They will need rocks, landscaper ground cover and lots of plants and flowers. Again, let's off congratulations for the kids to even try this project. In the pictures, the kids started the projects by planting some veggies and flowers.

The kiddos attended a Chess Meet at Garland County Library in March 2026. Players Jupiter and DaMarius played great games with Jupiter becoming "The Best Improved." She has truly natural chess skills. We were joined by Leland Green, Career Coach and Gues from Fountain Lake High School, Hot Springs. The event was hosted by HSV Angels. Essential Learning Center went to the Alligator Petting Farm last week.............Boy, did the kids have fun!!! Look at the joy on those wonderous faces.........more field trips to come. Our weather is turning to Spring, affording us the opportunity to visit more venues.

The Afterschool Pre-k class with Dr J > we are learning the very diffifult task of coloring in the lines. The kids are practicing two methods and keeping the one they like the best. I think simply tracing the lines with a darker color gives them great visual guidance for their brain.
