Greystone Programs' Club COOL members were proud to be recognized at the BOE meeting during the Superintendent Spotlight for their involvement with the Griffin Café at Van Wyck and the Coffee Cart at Wappingers Junior High School.

Through these mobile café programs, Club COOL members work alongside students to prepare, sell, and deliver beverages and baked goods to faculty and staff. These hands-on experiences help participants build valuable life and employment skills, including communication, customer service, teamwork, money management, organization, problem-solving, and workplace responsibility.

By taking orders, managing supplies, preparing items, making deliveries, and interacting with customers, Club COOL members gain real-world experience that promotes independence, confidence, and career readiness. Programs like these demonstrate how meaningful community partnerships can create opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn, grow, and succeed.

Everyone looks forward to these Friday deliveries, and we are proud of the dedication and hard work our Club COOL members bring each week!

Our home in Amenia has officially earned their green thumbs! 🌱🍅

Residents spent the day planting tomato and pepper plants and are already looking forward to watching their garden grow this season. From planting to watering, everyone had a hand in bringing the garden to life.

Gardening offers many benefits for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including opportunities to build responsibility, develop new skills, stay active, and enjoy the calming effects of spending time outdoors. Most importantly, it provides a rewarding sense of accomplishment as they nurture something from seed to harvest.

We can't wait to see how this year's garden grows!

Every cat deserves love, attention, and a chance to find a forever home. 🐱❤️

Kayden recently visited Beans Cat Cafe in Beacon, where more than 16 adoptable cats are waiting for their next chapter. He and one of his housemates enjoyed spending time with the cats, helping provide the socialization and care that can make a difference in their adoption journey.

For many individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), spending time with animals can help reduce stress, encourage social interaction, and provide a sense of comfort and companionship. Experiences like these create meaningful connections for both people and pets. Thank you to Beans Cat Cafe for creating a space where both people and cats can thrive together.

With the warm weather finally arriving, we made our exciting return to the Chester Agriculture Center’s community garden! 🌱☀️

With smiles, teamwork, and plenty of enthusiasm, our members got back to work preparing for another season of growth, learning, and community connection. This project is about so much more than gardening, it’s about building confidence, trying new things, and creating meaningful experiences together.

A special thank you to Sara, Charles, and everyone at CAC for welcoming us back with open arms. We are so excited for all that this season will bring and cannot wait to share the journey with all of you! 🪴💚
