We have been asked to go to IL to cook. We are going to try to go if possible. We will know more in the next couple of days. If you would like to join us send me a text and I’ll get with you as soon as possible.
This is what I received from God’s Pit Crew. Glad locals are stepping up and taking care locally.
Jason (one of our leaders) assessed the damage in Michigan, several areas were hit hard but the local response has been huge! At this time we do not feel a response from GPC is needed. If that changes I will let y’all know.
We are monitoring the situation with the outbreak of tornadoes. Assessors will be boots on the ground tomorrow giving us a first hand account of the needs. We will keep you updated when decisions are made if/when and where we may possibly be going in the upcoming days.
Join us today at the Helena Christmas parade at the Harmony Church as we give out free Cowboy stew. Nothing better to warm you up on a cold day. Come see our portable kitchen that we use when we are deployed during a disaster.
Today we celebrated Don Gunn”s life and dedication to his church and Refuel Ministries. We are so grateful for all of his hard work over the years in disaster relief with Refuel Ministries. He will be missed!!!
Change is a constant when dealing with disasters. We were notified this morning that this deployment has been put on hold. Here is the statement they sent me:
“Our assessors have been working diligently the last few days working with local officials, churches and ministry leaders. Due to the tremendous local volunteer response, plus the continued rescue efforts we are delaying this trip for now until we gather more information and will update you once we get more leaders on location to make a final plan.”
Thank you for your support and we will update everyone once we get more information.
Change of plans. We’ve been asked to go to San Angelo TX and our first meal will be Tuesday the 15th and returning on the 26th. There were a lot more homes flooded there but the the tv coverage is staying where the most deaths were because of the camp. We will also have a team working there as well. Please keep us in your prayers.
Off we go again! Looks like we’ll be heading to southwest TX on the weekend of the 19th until the 27th to cook for God’s Pit Crew and volunteers. Please keep us in your prayers and any donations you are able to give are appreciated. This is a long drive and many things can happen to our equipment as we saw on our last trip.

Sure is good to be home. Had a great trip with a few bumps in the road but nothing that would stop us from doing our calling. Two members of our team stayed back to cook for the rest of this deployment. We have a great team great supporters and a great God.

It was popular. Only 4 had to go to hospital in diabetic coma.

Baked chicken thighs, pinto beans, mixed greens and cornbread. For dessert we are having double layered ice cream sandwiches with chocolate and caramel syrups and whip cream!

On tonight’s menu: grilled tilapia, French fries, grilled vegetables in olive oil, slaw and salad. We will finish with cakes and brownies. I’d like to mention the couple getting their food first. They are leading by example. They are staying an hour away in a hotel on their honeymoon. Yes, they wanted to serve others during one of the most exciting times of their lives. I’d say their marriage is starting off on the right path.
