Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is the global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science.

Neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism, face higher rates of substance use — influenced by differences in brain-based reward and regulation systems, as well as stress, stigma, and misunderstanding. In this accessible talk, Dr. Heather Relyea Ashley will explain the science behind this risk and offer practical tools to build connection, reduce shame, and support families with compassion.
