New exhibit coming up on April 19!

Sienna Streamfellow, the featured artist, is a tintype (wet plate collodion) photographer, raised on the waters of the Ala Wai, Oʻahu, who is influenced by sails filled with sweet ocean breezes and boat epoxy. This exhibit at the cafe displays tintypes shot over several years starting in 2019 when Sienna first learned the complicated process behind wet plate collodion photography. Tintypes are made by coating a metal plate with multiple rounds of chemicals to make a single positive exposure.

We’re enthusiastic to announce our next exhibition in our gallery at the cafe called Reflections!

For this show, Noël Piechowski wanted to experiment with what it would be like to actualize one’s ‘reflections.’ She allowed herself to sit bit deeper with, and give life to, those intangible feelings that come from one’s day to day reflecting. Each painting in this show is a resulting manifestation from a reflection on a particular situation or circumstance.

Reflections is here to stay from March 15 to April 16 so come check it out. Aside from that, the gallery opening is tonight from 5:00-9:00pm so come by and check out Noël’s work 🌀👏

A new exhibition is coming to ARS Cafe tomorrow!

This exhibit offers an exploration of the human-nature dialectic that has shaped our capacity for pattern recognition, deduction, and identification, along with our perceptions of what is beautiful.

Albie Miles is the featured artist of this exhibition. He is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Community Food Systems at the University of Hawai’i - West O’ahu (UHWO), and the Co-Director of the Ke Ō Mau Center for Sustainable Island Food Systems for the University of Hawai’i System.

We’re looking forward to both his show and opening night, which is on Saturday, February 22nd, from 6-9pm 😊 Hope to see you there!!
