HANOCON pau!! Exhausted doesn't even begin to cover it 😅 Now that we got 3 in the books, I can say for sure the adrenaline carries you straight from day 1 into day 2, then after the final credits roll and we're in the middle of packing up... Bam! All the tiredness from the last 2 days plus a full week of prep hits you like a truck.

This year was chock full of technical (and non-technical) difficulties, from me pushing the wrong button to the roofers showing up early and calling Nolan nonstop in the middle of Q&A for the last session of the day 😵‍💫 But we made it thru and hopefully people enjoyed a peek into the madness (our in-studio speakers got to see the full chaos and they definitely enjoyed it 😅).

The best part of the conference for us is always getting to be part of the community of local nonprofits. Not only do you all do amazing work for our state, you're also hilarious and so thoughtful, and the message boards and pet photos help us get thru the muliwai 😁

We're so grateful to have gone thru this experience for the third time with the amazing team, and we wouldn't have survived without the patience and support of the truly wonderful . We made it!!

Now onto the next (literally, we're driving to the next shoot as I'm writing this on Saturday morning 🤪)

Being an entrepenuer is so rewarding but as we all know, it's rare any of us know what "take a day off" means. We live our business, we are our business, and it's hard not to sacrifice mental/physical health for work.

forced herself to take a day off today and this is what she looked like all day while saying "I want to wooooork.... 😭".

It's a juggling act though as we may always be busy working on the business, but how many times have we procrastinated doing the things that we know are important for our business (like our video marketing)? We know we SHOULD be doing it, and we WANT to do it, but we come up with all the reasons why we can't start yet and never get going. This Thursday, let's talk more about this and what we can do to get out of our own way during our livestream 🤓

We're switching things up for the new year! Starting this week, we're shifting the focus of our live stream to helping entrepreneurs, small business owners & nonprofits utilize video marketing on their own, without the huge expense of hiring a professional crew every time they want to make a video.

Don't get us wrong, there is and always will be a need for professional videographers. But there's a lot of stuff non-professionals can and should be doing on their own!

This week we're talking about framing, a topic suggested by Bryan, one of our awesome nonprofit friends. Nolan will go over 4 key ideas when it comes to framing, then Jamie will join him for Q&A. Another virtual HANOCON in the books! What a whirlwind 😅 I forgot to take pics when the awesome Hawaii Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations crew was in the studio, but we're so grateful we got to spend the last two days with Lisa Maruyama and Laurie Nakamoto two of our favorite people on the planet 💖 Congrats to the HANO team for putting together another powerful event 👏 We had so much fun connecting with the nonprofit community on the message boards! Hope you all have a restful weekend, eat some comfort food, laugh at some dad jokes, enjoy your plants and pets, and listen to some good podcasts! As for us, time to nap 😴😄
