If you’ve followed my channel for any length of time, you know I’m a fan of short barreled ARs for home defense and some other niche uses.
This video goes in to great detail in regard to the Sig Rattler’s Development, including the initial request and production of extremely short 5.56 versions, before the development of the (superior in many ways) .300BLK versions.

AR’s with barrels less than 10” aren’t All Purpose Builds, but they certainly aren’t useless fireball producing novelties either…
We’ve got some gel demos with short barreled ARs and appropriate ammo at Personal Defense Network DotCom for those interested.

How prepared are your home and family RIGHT NOW for 3-5 days of locking down to avoid social unrest?
Food/Water?
(Without a run to the store…)
Power/Fuel?
(Without connection to “the grid”…)
Security?
Cash?
How about the plan for communications?
(Without the cell network…)
Are you good for one day?
Are you good for one week?
Are you prepared to move to a safer place if necessary?

Time for another reminder of just how sketchy 300BLK gets when in the vicinity of traditionally chambered ARs.
I recommend different color magazines, as a starting point.
Personally, I’ve also paint-markered the mags and bottom of the magwell on 300s, so that they match up.
Stay Vigilant.
The cause of the blown up 5.56 Left Hand AR I posted yesterday.

Stored Guns should be easy to check up on… but, fi****ms STAGED for defensive use have a different set of protocols.
Are they appropriately secured from unauthorized access?
When was the last time you practiced accessing them quickly?
Who else has the codes, access to the keys or is programmed into the biometrics? Have those relationships changed ?
Is everything plugged in or charged up? Do batteries need to be changed?

“Make Sure It’s Secure®.”
NSSF is calling on gun owners, retailers, range operators and other firearm industry-related companies to participate in the final days of Gun Storage Check Week®.
Observed at the start of National Safety Month, Gun Storage Check Week helps prevent firearm accidents, especially those involving children, suicides and thefts. NSSF President and CEO Joe Bartozzi encourages gun owners to take a moment and evaluate their firearm storage practices to help prevent unauthorized access when fi****ms are not in use.
Gun owners can also visit GunStorageCheck.org to explore safety resources and learn more about secure storage options, including cable locks, lock boxes, lockable gun cases, full-size gun safes and cabinets.
Get more details on the NSSF Blog (🔗 in bio).
