“I feel aloha when people show that they care. When my friend sees me crying, she always immediately tries to make me feel better by making me laugh. I know just how hard it is to comfort someone when they’re feeling down and so the fact that she always tries to make me smile makes me feel a lot of aloha. My artwork represents this moment with the girl’s tears “turning” into waterfalls. This symbolizes sad tears turning into something beautiful, just like how making someone laugh can turn their tears into tears of laughter, all because of Aloha.”

“This art piece shows a father and son fishing at the edge of a rock wall at Maunalua bay. This art piece shows aloha because you can see the pureness and the love between the father and son enjoying their time. The setting has nice green palms, vibrant blue water and nice clear skies. When you look at this art piece, you see aloha.”

“Looking at nature makes me feel a strong sense of aloha. Whenever I am on top of a high platform like a mountain, I absorb the scenery & think,"This is Aloha." Something about Hawaii's beautiful land instantly makes me think of how well it defines the ALOHA SPIRIT on a daily basis.”
