We had the pleasure of celebrating our own Chris Tomberlin as the 2025 Silver Medal recipient for Birmingham's American Advertising Federation this weekend. He is the epitome of integrity. Chris's professionalism, creative talent, knowledge and skill have moved cinematography forward in our industry. We are so proud and grateful to have him leading this work at Copperwing. Congratulations, Chris!!!

Copperwing welcomes Catherine (Cat) Ross to the team. Cat joins Copperwing in the role of Creative Director for Brand Content.

Cat is a veteran writer of brand language. She has worked for various national and regional real estate, healthcare, tourism, education, medical, retail, manufacturing and governmental brands, including Alabama Power, the Alabama Bicentennial Commission, Alabama Humanities Alliance, Auburn University and UAB Medicine. Her expertise includes brand narratives, naming, strategy and campaigns.

Cat's work has won many awards and has been featured in various publications, including the National American Advertising Awards, Communication Arts Magazine, Graphics and Print Magazine. Before joining Copperwing, she worked with several Birmingham-based design and marketing firms.

Angela Stiff, founder and Chief Creative Officer of Copperwing, said, “We are thrilled to have Cat join our talented creative team. She will be instrumental in building successful brand systems. As partner to our Creative Director of design, Copperwing has a strong collaborative duo helping direct the brands we serve.”

Our very own Avery Dove spoke at Auburn University this past week. He visited Courtney Windham’s Kinetic Typography (Motion Design) class. While attending Auburn, Avery took this class simply as an elective, not thinking too much of it. He says it ultimately changed the course of his life and career. Avery creates brand animations, motion design and video editing work for national and international clients at Copperwing. War Eagle, Avery!

Throughout his career, Spencer has spearheaded numerous award-winning campaigns, inspired teams, and driven creative excellence at every turn. As Creative Director, he will continue to push boundaries and elevate our brand to new heights.

Spencer is also a proud member of our military. He continues to serve as a leader in the U.S. Airforce Reserve, now as a Senior Master Sergeant in Quality Assurance.

Our own Kelsey Harrison is AAF Birmingham’s artist spotlight for March! Kelsey will be sharing her experience, inspiration, and real-world insights into the art of storytelling on March 13th, 2024, 11:30 am – 1 pm at Shipt Tower in Birmingham.

Incredibly, our clients, community, friends, and family have helped open even more doors each year. We are humbly grateful for every minute that this wonderful adventure has brought. What’s next?
