aTeam Ministries began after Jan and Andy Thrower experienced firsthand the challenges of childhood cancer when their son, Anderson, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at just 16 months old in 2009.

During years of treatment — including monthly chemo injections, weekly lab work, and daily medications — they began to see not only their own family’s needs, but the needs of so many others walking similar journeys. That experience led to the founding of aTeam Ministries: a community committed to supporting families facing pediatric cancer and blood disorders with love, compassion, and practical support.

Today, Anderson is doing well, completed treatment in 2012, and just graduated from high school. God has used his story to continue to impact families across our community.
