Embracing 43: A Journey Through Shadows to Grace

In the shadow of youth, where the light seemed so dim,
I navigated worlds where hope was but slim.
A third-world child, with bread and milk for feast,
Dreamt of a banquet, but dined on so little, at least.

Eighteen years tethered, in bonds not meant to last,
Escaped the chains of abuse, shadows of the past.
Marriage’s sanctity, by darkness, was marred,
Finding solace in liberation, emotionally scarred.

A child’s innocence, stolen, a deed so vile,
By a trusted kin, lost in a treacherous mile.
Yet, in the face of evil that sought to divert,
My spirit, though bruised, refused to be hurt.

Satan’s whispers, aiming to lead astray,
Only to find my faith in God, refusing to sway.
Each attempt to break me, to make me fall,
Strengthened my resolve to heed God’s call.

For His kingdom on Earth, I yearn even more,
A world of His love, peace, and grace in store.
Once a mogul, my empire to dust did return,
In the ashes of defeat, His lessons to learn.

Post-divorce, amidst the ruins, grace did abound,
A phoenix rising, in His favor, I found solid ground.
Rebuilt from nothing, by grace and divine favor,
My business flourished, in His mercy, to savor.

Grandmother’s echoes, a Proverbs 31 queen’s heart,
Guided my journey, a map from the start.
At forty-three, standing in His grace, refined,
A testament to resilience, with a spirit kind.

For every tear shed, every wound that bled,
Became a story of victory, of being spiritually fed.
In the face of trials, tribulations so severe,
I stand a warrior, in God’s armor, without fear.

This narrative, more than a tale of survival,
Speaks of a journey towards spiritual revival.
With every breath, for His kingdom, I yearn,
In the hope of His return, for which we all burn.
